now i sound like a travel agent, but this really is a fabulous city...
1. Bike, run, or walk to Picnic Point via the Lakeshore Path.
2. Visit Vilas Zoo -- free!
3. Eat, shop, and people watch your way down State Street.
4. Support local growers at the famous downtown Farmer's Market. I prefer the quieter, less touristy Westside Community Market, though.
5. See some neat architechure and a great view of the lake at the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Monona Terrace.
...what is great about your location?

Hrmmmm... Janesville is a tough one to describe as a gem! I would say, though, we have a fabulous fire department :) We have a really interesting downtown area. Lots of history. And the houses in the historic district are gigantic and beautiful--like none I've ever seen before. Tim and I like to take Tucker for walks there and daydream about the houses that are for sale! Maybe someday....when I graduate!
Lexington has...
A great public library system...with lots of activities.
A great downtown...which I have been enjoying.
Fresh Market...like Whole Foods but not as expensive.
Still exploring and enjoying my new city...
Jackson, Wisconsin
* Stonebrook Drive.....very special place where my children & grandchildren come to visit!!!
* Action in Jackson....festival with food, music & fun
* a beautiful golf course which Paul enjoys
* Heidels & Jimmy's....good restaurants...and even better when shared with good company.
** OUR NEW HOME!!!
Top 5 Flagstaff, Arizona Gems:
1) Sitting outside Flag Brew in the summer, drinking a beer, and listening to live music
2) Hiking, running, or mountain biking in the MOUNTAINS right outside the door
3) Close proximity to red-rock Sedona, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Blue Ridge........
4) Walking downtown in the Flagstaff version of state street on a warm spring early evening
5) I hear ya Christine... walking past those expensive houses and daydreaming... maybe SOME day... MAYBE!
